Autumn and Eliot Here’s a love story you ain’t heard yet So unlikely that it’s hard to forget Autumn and Eliot Their first kiss was in the backyard while her mom was making lemonade She couldn’t see behind her back but under the shady trees He lit a fire in her eyes and she laughed ‘cuz she was so surprised Sometimes it happens just like that Autumn and Eliot Here’s a love story you ain’t heard yet So unlikely that it’s hard to forget Autumn and Eliot Their first goodbye was in the sixth grade His dad was moving for a job The summer fluttered by so fast but on the last night they took a walk She said “Remember me when you’re gone.” He whispered “I won’t be very long.” Sometimes it wraps up just like that Autumn and Eliot Here’s a love story that ain’t done yet So unlikely that it’s hard to forget Autumn and Eliot What captures a heart when you’re so young and holds it captive for life? You don’t need to fight it when it’s not wrong What happens when two little souls hold the universe right in their hands? Maybe it’s part of a plan Their second hello was in the airport while they were running for their planes A kismet collision in the hall and as they gathered their scattered things she was surrounded by his stare He whispered “I didn’t see you there.” Sometimes it happens just like that Autumn and Eliot There’s a love story you’ll never forget Got a feeling you ain’t seen nothing yet with Autumn and Eliot

Watercolor 04:19
My parents' marriage was a watercolor, runny and framed up in spidery ink, bleeding and porous - a melancholy chorus, shorter and more savage than you think. My old man, he did us wrong, did us wrong, did me wrong. At thirteen I was painting watercolors, funny and game for some laughs with a wink. Needy and joyous, this train wreck of a boy is shorter and more savage than you think. My old man, he did us wrong, did us wrong, did me wrong. Everything is fine. Everything is perfect. My old man, he did us wrong, did us wrong, did me wrong. My parents' marriage was a watercolor.

There's not a prayer that I can whisper to save me now. How can I offer up my heart when both my hands are folded? Not that the raging priests would notice anyhow, so I'll just close my eyes and breathe. All the good books are packed in boxes on the stairs, arranged in rows like little children who have just been scolded. Not that their aging parents would even say they care. Let's all just close our eyes and breathe. Turn off the light. These covers are warm. Let's make a tent. We'll sleep in here all night, safe from harm 'til the dark is spent. Tell me stories about the days when I was small and smiled wide without an inkling I'd be getting older. Not that the endings would be happy after all, but we can close our eyes and breathe. Turn off the light. These covers are warm. Let's make a tent. We'll sleep in here all night, safe from harm 'til the dark is spent.

What have you decided to do in light of the fact that you're losin'? You'll never win, so you don't even begin in light of the fact that you're losin' How far down can you go? I've been in the shadows before. I'll bet you didn't even know that you're worth fighting for. Fists up at night but minus the fight in light of the fact that you're losin' Take a swing but you can't hit a thing in light of the fact that you're losin' How far around can you go? You've been in this circus before. It moves too fast and then too slow while it devours you more and more. Don't go under. Don't you drown, now. What have you decided to do in light of the fact that you're losin'? You wanna win so you better begin in light of the fact that you're losin'

Let that sun beat down Let that sun beat down Let that sun beat down I am unadorned. Let that sun beat down Let that sun beat down Let that sun beat down and keep me safe and warm. The nighttime surrounds me, and my feelings they drown me. But I gotta hold on until the morning.
